Gender Equity Report Published as University Sets Inclusion Targets

First annual report tracks gender representation across faculty and sets targets for pay equity and flexible work.

Auckland Academy has published its inaugural Gender Equity Report, establishing a baseline for tracking female representation in academic and leadership positions.

The report found women hold 45% of academic positions and outlined goals including achieving pay equity across all levels by 2025, introducing flexible promotion pathways for academics with caring responsibilities, and expanding parental leave provisions.

"As a new university, we have the chance to build an equitable institution from the ground up," said Gender Equity Commissioner Dr. Aroha Williams. "We publish this report because transparency is the first step toward accountability."
