Welcome Week 2026: Over 200 Events for New and Returning Students

Largest-ever orientation program features club fairs, faculty mixers, and industry networking sessions.

Auckland Academy's Welcome Week 2026 kicked off with a record 200+ events spanning academic orientation, social activities, and professional development — making it the largest Welcome Program in the university's history.

Highlights included the Welcome Fair showcasing all 35+ student clubs and societies, faculty-specific orientation sessions, campus walking tours, and a keynote address by the Dean of Business Dr. Amanda Chen.

"Welcome Week is about more than logistics — it's about building the connections that will sustain you throughout your university journey," said Dean of Students Dr. Angela Martinez.

New additions this year include an International Student Buddy Program pairing incoming students with experienced peers, a two-day Startup Bootcamp hosted by the Innovation Hub, and expanded mental health awareness workshops run by the Student Wellness Centre.

The USU Food Festival, a Welcome Week staple, drew over 3,000 attendees with cuisine from 20 countries.
