Music Students Perform at National Concert Hall
University orchestra delivers acclaimed performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 5.
The Auckland Academy Symphony Orchestra performed to a sold-out audience at the National Concert Hall, delivering what critics called "a stunning interpretation" of Mahler's Symphony No. 5. The performance marked the orchestra's debut at the prestigious venue.
Under the direction of Professor David Yamamoto, the 85-member student orchestra received a standing ovation and praise from professional musicians in attendance.
"Our students performed at a professional level that exceeded all expectations," said Professor Yamamoto. "This performance demonstrates the caliber of musical education at Auckland Academy."
