New Library Learning Commons Opens
State-of-the-art facility combines traditional resources with digital innovation.
Auckland Academy has unveiled its new Library Learning Commons, a $15 million renovation that transforms the central library into a modern hub for collaborative learning and research. The facility features 24/7 study spaces, digital media labs, group study rooms, and a café.
The renovation also includes expanded digital collections, virtual reality learning stations, and improved accessibility features throughout the building. The new space can accommodate 1,500 students simultaneously.
"Libraries are evolving from quiet book repositories to dynamic learning environments," said University Librarian Dr. Karen Lee. "This space reflects how today's students learn—collaboratively and digitally."
